Dr. Cornell, chair of breast surgery at Winchester Hospital, was one of the first surgeons in Massachusetts to offer early stage breast cancer patients an innovative new alternative in partial breast irradiation through the Xoft technology. Compared to conventional radiation therapy, patient treatment time is reduced from six to seven weeks, to just one; Winchester Hospital is the only hospital in the region to offer patients this new technology.
Dr. Cornell, along with radiologist Delphine Lui, MD, has led the development of Winchester Hospital’s multi-disciplinary, fully integrated breast care center. Patients have the unique benefit of a team of surgeons, radiologists, medical and radiation oncologists, working in a close collaborative environment to determine the best treatment plan for each patient.
Dr. Delphine M. Lui, chief of breast imaging at the hospital’s Breast Care Center, specializes primarily in breast imaging and is an expert in cross-sectional body imaging. Dr. Lui chose to specialize in breast imaging because of her interest in women’s health issues, especially breast cancer, which is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. Dr. Lui chose to practice at Winchester Hospital because of the outstanding reputation of the institution and medical staff and the Breast Care Center.
Dr. Lui, along with breast surgeon Kelley Cornell, MD, has led the development of Winchester Hospital’s multi-disciplinary, fully integrated breast care center. She and her colleagues at the Breast Care Center dedicate themselves to optimizing the delivery of breast health care by making diagnoses quickly and accurately.
