Each year more than 11,000 women are treated at the highly specialized Winchester Hospital Breast Care Center. As the first hospital north of Boston to offer the innovative Xoft technology for certain types of breast cancer and one of the few community hospitals to offer genetic testing for women with a family history of breast cancer, Winchester Hospital is setting a new standard of excellence for comprehensive integrated breast care.
We use the most advanced digital imaging technology to perform more than 29,000 mammograms annually. Other advanced diagnostics include breast ultrasound and breast MRI, MRI guided breast biopsy, a dedicated stereotactic breast biopsy suite and ultrasound breast biopsies, as well as access to radiation therapy-based clinical trials. And a dedicated Winchester ‘Nurse Navigator’ helps to facilitate the path from diagnosis to treatment to after-care, ensuring individual needs and circumstances are met for each patient.
